An affordable energy efficient breakthrough in second generation biofuel technology.
A single stage reactor attacks and weakens the double carbon lignin strands. The microwave plasma simultaneously breaks down the lignin residue to release the cellulosic sugars in the feedstock.
Initial studies indicate our reactors are capable of substantial output and could greatly enhance the efficiency of any bio ethanol plant and should use around ten times less energy than stream explosion and the like.
The advantage of our technology is that it affords a low energy method of treating potential fuel sources. The energy balance of current processes are unfavourable in that, total input energy may be greater than the energy obtained from outputs of the process. It is well known that the lignin molecules have resonances, and that frequencies in the micro wave range the molecules may be energised. This energy can result in uncoupling of the constituent bonds.

Second Generation Biofuels Technology

CONCENTRATED SUGAR CAPTURE FROM CELLULOSIC BIOMASS.

An affordable energy efficient breakthrough in second generation biofuel technology.

“BFW Technology breaks down the cellulose molecule structures in woody biomass and allows an efficient and rapid release of the sugars for any fermentation reaction”
Sir Roger Jones, Chairman Biofuels Wales.

“By using Microwave Plasma, the Technology can use up to ten times less energy, chemicals and other infrastructure accessories, making the conversion of cellulosic biomass into bioethanol a more economical procedure”
Tony Newman, Commercial Director Biofuels Wales
